Sven Hansen lives and works in Berlin, where he also earned his degree in industrial design. He designs premium, manual crafted upholstery furniture but also highly industrial produced products. His way of designing reflects this dualism between craft and technology, as he combines up to date computer technology with hand crafted clay and cardboard models. For him a sculpturing process allows the closest connection to the object. What is best: Intuition can play a big role and is guiding to unpredictable qualities.

Most of his clients are international. Among them are:
Stelton and Menu (Denmark), Jori (Belgium), Homeasy (Hong Kong), Casala (Netherlands), DeSede (Swiss), Cor, Freifrau, WMF (Germany), Leolux (Netherlands)

Since 2013 Sven Hansen is teaching furniture design at the Berlin International University of Applied Sciences.
